Fishing 8/19

Nice healthy fish.

Mike with a trout.
Best fish of the day on a Bamboo Rod
Fishing was good today. Mostly got fish nymphing. The water was off color so you could stand right on top of the fish.
I fished a PJ Julius bamboo rod today. Paul makes his Bamboo Rods locally here in Cross Plains. Check out his website at www.pjjuliusrods.com

Saturday Guide trip

Great fish!

Close up of the biggest landed for the day.

Meet up with Joe at 7am Saturday morning. Joe flew into Milwaukee from Texas and then drove all the way to Fennimore,WI. Arriving at his hotel at about 3:30am and a few hours of sleep we were fishing. The day was hot and the bugs were thick. But we managed to get some great fish and the beer s at the end of the day were quite tasty!!

Introductions

I thought some good old fashioned introductions were in order for the start of the BLOG. Top picture is me Nick Volk co-owner of On The Creek fly shop and Orvis Endorsed Guide and the bottom picture is the WORLD famous Todd Opsal co-owner  of On The Creek and otherwise general source of obscure facts if one might ever need them!
We decided a while back the area needed a dedicated fly shop and here we are 1 year later.
We both love to fly fish and love showing others. We also enjoy good Wisconsin favorites like brats, deep fried cheese curds, and BEER!
Check out our website(which is still a work in progress) www.onthecreekflyshop.com or if you find yourself in or near Cross Plains,WI stop in.
