Muskie on the Fly

Tuesday May 17th from 6-8pm at On The Creek Fly Shop

Robert Tomes  Muskie on the Fly-Myths & Realities

Robert  Tomes is the author of " Muskie on the Fly" the only book dedicated to fly fishing for muskie. If you have never seen or heard one of Robert's presentations you really should stop by and listen. He has been at this for some time now and has learned many tricks and tactics for catching muskie with the fly rod.

Robert will be signing copies of his book. There will be refreshments and munchie. Swing in a little early and check out the muskie equipment in the shop.

Free time!

I had some down time at the shop recently, so I ran out behind the shop with a bugger and managed to get a few small ones. They had some really great colors.

Did some guide trips  end of last week and into the weekend. The weather didn't want to cooperate but the fish sure did. Moved two of the biggest fish I have seen in trout streams in WI. Here's a few photos.

recent trips

Fishing has been pretty good lately on area streams. Warm sunny days have the caddis moving and fish are on them. White buggers presented downstream is taking fish also. Stop by or call the shop if you want to book a guided day of fishing.

Guiding

Had a few guys out on Monday of this week. The day started off a little chilly but the fish were still willing to eat. With water temps still being so cold fish weren't moving a big distance to eat and were usually sitting in the slower tailouts of riffles. By the afternoon midges were everywhere but we only saw 1 fish rise! Most of these fish ate the pink squirrel and a couple ate a green copper john pattern.
